Suffolk County Bike Trails

The North Shore Rail Trail is a new bike and hiking trail that extends 10 miles across the north shore of Suffolk County. Formerly known as the Rails to Trails Recreational Path, the trail features quarter-mile markers along its length and new kiosks at trailheads. The trail follows the old Wading River railway line, which was abandoned in 1939 and is now owned by Long Island Power Authority.

In addition to connecting Port Jefferson to the north Whotimes shore, the trail will also connect the Wading River to the North Fork.
